MacKinley Helm was educated at the Universities of Idaho, Princeton, and Cambridge, England, taking his doctorate at Harvard in 1932. He is the author of many distinguished books among them Angel Mo’ and her Son, Roland Hayes; John Marin; Modern Mexican Painters; and Journeying Through Mexico. He is one of the foremost authorities on Mexican art. His home is in Brookline Massachusetts.
